11月26日，Lustre文件系统在中国的第一次用户大会“Lustre用户峰会2011”在高能所举办。本次活动得到了国内高性能计算用户的积极响应和存储业界的广泛关注。参会人员包括来自中科院高能物理研究所、中科院超算中心、国防科技大学“天河一号”超算中心的技术负责人，来自Whamcloud、曙光、DDN、EMC、同有等国内外知名公司的工程师，以及来自中科院软件所、中科院计算所、清华大学等科研机构的存储研究专家等，共有57人出席了现场活动。

The first China Lustre User Group conference was held at the High Energy Institute (HEI), Chinese Academy of Science (CAS) on November 26th of year 2011, which received positive response from high-performance computing users and massive attention in storage industry. A total of 57 attendees participated in this event, including technical leaders from HEI-CAS, Supercomputer Center-CAS, ‘Tianhe No.1’ Supercomputing Center-NUDT, and engineers from Whamcloud, Shuguang, DDN, EMC, Tongyou, etc., as well as storage experts from Software Institute-CAS, Computing Institute-CAS, Tsingtua University.

会上分享了Lustre文件系统的使用调优经验、开发计划以及Chroma监控系统、OSD布局调整、pNFS协议支持等技术细节。同时还专门安排了自由讨论活动，参会者就分布式文件系统开发测试方法、备份、小文件性能、负载均衡等问题与报告人展开了热烈深入的讨论。

During the course of the event, a wide range of topics pertaining to the debugging experiences and development plan of Lustre file system, Chroma monitoring system, OSD layout tuning, and pNFS protocol support were presented. Participants also had a heated and in-depth discussion around the distributed file system development test methods, backup, small file performance, load balancing and so forth.

Lustre文件系统的设计者，Whamcloud公司首席技术官Eric Barton博士专程从美国赶来参加此次用户峰会。会议期间Barton博士充分了解了Lustre在中国的应用模式，用户需求，并就Lustre在中国的推广，与高能所的合作等问题与计算中心的专家进行讨论。双方就Lustre系统的研究开发以及在中国的推广和支持达成了合作意向。

The designer of the Lustre file system, Dr. Eric Barton, came all the way from the U.S to attend this Lustre User Group conference in China. Dr. Barton took time to learn the particular Lustre application model and user needs in China he exchanged valuable thoughts and ideas in terms of the development of Lustre and prompting Lustre in China. The preliminary cooperation scheme between HEI-CAS and Whamcloud was established.
